About Equiem Security Standards

Security is an integral pillar of our platform. Equiem's customers and users entrust us with their work-life information, and we aim to process and store that data thoughtfully and securely. Our security team has implemented a security management system that follows the best practices described in the SOC 2 framework. The team aims to continuously improve the program alongside the business growth, reach, and input from various stakeholders, including customers and regulators.

Equiem has obtained the SOC 2 certification through an independent third-party examination. The report helps understand the controls Equiem has established to support operations and compliance. It is available upon request.

About SOC 2

SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a voluntary compliance standard developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) to ensure that service providers securely manage data to protect the interests of their clients and the privacy of their clients' customers. Here are the critical criteria and benefits of SOC 2 certification:

Key Criteria:
  • Security: Measures taken to protect against unauthorized access, use, or modification of the system.
  • Availability: The system is available for operation and use as committed or agreed upon.
  • Processing Integrity: System processing is complete, valid, accurate, timely, and authorized.
  • Confidentiality: Information designated as confidential is protected as committed or agreed upon.
  • Privacy: Personal information is collected, used, retained, disclosed, and disposed of in conformity with the commitments in the entity's privacy notice and criteria outlined in Generally Accepted Privacy Principles (GAPP).
Benefits:
  • Increased Credibility: SOC 2 certification demonstrates a company's commitment to security and builds trust with clients and partners.
  • Competitive Advantage: Many clients, particularly in regulated industries, require their service providers to have SOC 2 certification, giving certified companies an edge over non-certified competitors.
  • Improved Risk Management: Obtaining SOC 2 certification helps companies identify and mitigate risks in their systems and processes.
  • Enhanced Security: SOC 2 certification ensures a company has robust security controls to protect sensitive data.
  • Streamlined Compliance: SOC 2 certification can help companies comply with other regulations, such as HIPAA, GDPR, and PCI-DSS, as there is significant overlap in their requirements.
  • Continuous Monitoring: SOC 2 requires continuous monitoring and reporting, ensuring that companies maintain high security and compliance over time.
  • Increased Efficiency: Companies can operate more efficiently and effectively by having well-defined and documented processes.

Overall, SOC 2 certification demonstrates a company's commitment to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy, which can lead to increased trust, competitive advantage, and improved risk management
