GDPR Compliance
Equiem cares about your privacy
At Equiem, maintaining the security of our platform and ensuring the data we collect remains secure has always been a principal priority. We understand the responsibility that is associated with protecting our online community and continue to use best practice technology and security systems to ensure the ongoing safety of the personal data we manage.
With the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), now in effect, this page explains how we prepared for this change and how you can access the information you need.
To simplify this process we’ve compiled the most common questions users are asking about this change:
The GDPR is a comprehensive data protection law that replaces existing European privacy laws and strengthens the protection of personal data in an increasingly data-driven world.
The GDPR is enforceable in each EU member state and gives individuals greater control over their personal data.
The GDPR comes into effect on 25 May 2018. We're updating our processes, systems and policies now to make sure we're fully prepared, and our data continues to be protected under the highest possible international standard.
Any information related to a natural person (individual) that can be used to directly or indirectly identify the person. It can be anything from a name, a photo, an email address, bank details, posts on social networking websites, medical information, or a computer IP address.
The GDPR applies to any organisation that processes personal data of EU individuals, regardless of whether the organisation has a physical presence in the EU. For Deputy customers, that's any organisation with one or more employees in the EU.
Upon logging in on the 25th of May, all users will be asked to review our privacy policy. Acceptance of the policy will be required to continue to access the Portal.
As always, keeping your information safe remains one of Equiem’s top priorities. For any queries please email gdpr@getequiem.com.au
